Agde : 2600 years of history at your feet

Agde (from the Greek ’agathè’, meaning : good) was founded by Greek colonists in the 5th century BC. Besides the Greek vestiges, after many years a a cathedral, ramparts, buildings and houses from XVI and XVII centuries were added. This heritage is revealed to the visitor of the city of Agde. A walk in Agde, is a visit through the centuries while wandering through the small streets or standing in the shade of the cathedral.

The Canal du Midi

A mythic construction, built in the XVII century, is on the UNESCO list of the World Heritage, the Canal du Midi connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. You can rent a boat and navigate by yourself or even bike along its shore for a calm and amazing moment.
